Nexia shortlisted for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Award 2023

Nexia is delighted to announce it has been shortlisted as a finalist for the prestigious Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Initiative of the Year Award at the 2023 International Accounting Forum & Awards.
The Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (“DE&I”) award seeks to acknowledge and celebrate the remarkable achievements of an organisation that has set new standards for DE&I within its business practices. This award aims to highlight firms, networks, professional bodies, regulators and professional federations that have made significant contributions in advancing DE&I principles within their respective domains.
Nexia’s flagship DE&I programme advances next generation women leaders. For women to achieve promotion to top leadership positions in any accounting firm, requires more than just a diversity campaign. This initiative empowered women and embraced their confidence and strength to make the leap to Manager, Director and future Partner. Nexia addressed this in September 2022 by launching its pioneering peer-led Aspiring Women Leaders (“AWL” ) Programme. Intentionally, the Nexia AWL programme doesn’t aim to teach women what leadership is. Rather, it allows women to explore, delve deep, identify, and validate who they wish to become and the leadership style they want to hone.
A fully inclusive programme, AWL is the centrepiece to Nexia’s five-year defined DE&I strategy. The first cohort attracted 40 delegates from 10 countries across the Europe, Middle East and Africa, North America, and Asia Pacific regions. The second cohort of talented women will start the programme in September 2023.
The judges of the Diversity & Inclusion of the Year Award evaluated the impact of Nexia's DE&I initiative on various aspects of the programme. The International Accounting Forum & Awards are scheduled to take place on 29 June 2023 at the Leonardo Royal City in London.
