History

Nexia’s history dates back to the 1960s when two top-five accounting firms from London and New York began collaborating by referring clients and forming a network called S&O International.

In the 1970s, the network expanded based on the “one country, one firm” principle, primarily generating income from the UK and US markets.

The name “Nexia” was adopted after a merger with Neville Russell International.

The Nexia name is derived from the Latin term, “nexus”, meaning something that binds, connects or links.

Our name and interlinking “carabiners” symbol signify connection and corresponds with our value proposition:

“When you choose Nexia, you get a more responsive, more personal, partner-led service across the world.”
