Who should attend this interactive workshop?

This workshop is suitable for staff of all levels from trainee up to managing partner level. Member firms are welcome to register as many employees as you wish to attend.
 

About the workshop

This session will provide a brief overview about how PowerBi fits in with its siblings Power Query and Power Pivot.  Topics will only be presented at an introductory level, but will include:

  • Extracting, transforming and loading your data
  • Data visualisation tips and tricks
  • Q&A and other useful tools
  • Row level security
  • Should you use Excel or Power BI?
Please note:  This will be an interactive session with group discussion and you are encouraged to turn your camera on if you can.
 

Facilitator:  Liam Bastick

   

Liam has over 30 years’ experience in financial model development / auditing,
   valuations, M&A, strategy, training and consultancy.

   Liam has headed Ernst & Young’s modelling team in Melbourne and was an 
  Assistant Director in their strategic valuations team in London. He was also a 
  senior member of the UK Post Office’s M&A and strategy teams.

  Liam is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants (ICAEW), a Fellow of the
  Institute of Chartered Management Accountants (CIMA) and is a professional
  mathematician.

He has published the following books: An Introduction to Financial Modelling, Power BI MVP Book, Excel Insights, Continuing Financial Modelling, Financial Modelling in Power BI Liam has been a Microsoft MVP for the last 12 years and speaks at global conferences on Excel, PowerBI and financial modelling.
