Advance – Aspiring women Leaders programme – starting in September 2022

What is Advance?

Advance is a unique leadership development programme focusing on building confidence, and designed specifically for women. Having worked with many “Nexian” women, we know they are highly intelligent, capable and focused, so this programme is far less about teaching women what leadership is , and far more about helping them paint a clearer picture of the woman they wish to "become" and supporting them to take practical action to realise this at work. The result:  Women will naturally lead with more decision and clarity, in effect creating their own confident and unique leadership style.

Who is it for?

For those women who have 4-6 years of experience under their belt, may be in middle management positions, and are wondering what next?  This, we know, is often the point that firms lose women.  Advance is an ideal way to recognise a woman’s value to the firm, to enable them to navigate their way forward with more confidence, and encourage them to continue to contribute to your firm’s success.

Advance is also suited to women in management roles such as marketing and HR.

There is additional optional one-to-one virtual coaching available as part of the programme with an experienced qualified coach for an additional fee.

How to women benefit?

  • Increased self awareness, confidence, and trust in their own unique personal leadership style
  • A strong network of likeminded women who will continue to support and challenge each other.
  • A set of tools to help them navigate their way effectively around a firm
  • A better understanding of what contributes to executive presence

How does your firm benefit?

  • Increased retention of female talent, leading to increased gender diversity at senior levels, which in turn leads to greater collaboration, innovation, longer client relationships and essentially boosts your bottom line.

Programme overview:

This 6 month programme offers participants a powerful combination of prerecorded material, experiential exercises and coaching. We know it’s crucial to get engagement from the very start, so every woman will have a personal 1:1 welcome call.  This is where we establish rapport, build relationships, find out what each woman really wants from their Advance adventure, and introduce them to the membership site and private social media group.

This superb virtual programme is run by women, for women, in a safe confidential environment. Women watch core development materials and do the exercises at their own convenience with the added bonus of weekly support calls, which build in accountability and agency.  Women also have life long membership and access to resources, which means they can rewatch and refresh their memory on specific topics any time they like.

When:

The Gold programme runs from Mid September 2022 to Mid March 2023.

Core modules

Module 1: Your Brilliance

This focuses on individual brilliance, we look at values, strengths, ambition and “future self”.

Module 2: Basecamp

Women evaluate themselves and consider what challenges they face.

Module 3: Inner Strategies

This module covers how to sustain positivity under pressure – it’s easy to feel confident when you have a million pounds in the bank; this is about how to create a million mental pounds as a foundation for achievement and a cushion against adversity

Module 4: Outer strategies,

This module is all about impact and visibility .  We know how important it is for a woman not only to feel confident but to be seen as confident by colleagues and clients.  Women will explore personal branding, the impact of body language, and stakeholder engagement.

Module 5: Resilience

We make sure that individuals are resourced to deal with setbacks and challenges . We share key embodiment principles, and how managing and regulating our physical state influences our mental and emotional state, thus enabling us to perform better.

Module 6: Saboteurs :  This module explores how to handle our saboteurs (such as the inner critic), so that women can navigate effectively in their chosen direction within the firm.  There are powerful personal exercises, and a focus on practice to help self regulation and build additional confidence so encouraging women to create, explore, and make the most of available opportunities.

Module 7: Executive Presence:

This module focuses on how to communicate with impact when you’re a minority in the room.   We share tools and techniques to help women own their power, command attention, and generate respect at a senior leadership level.

Module 8 The 3 C’s.  Consolidate, Continue, Celebrate.

Here we focus on how to embed what has most contributed to building confidence and developing personal leadership style, building on and celebrating progress.

We have built in specific outputs to the Advance experience.  For example, future self vision and action plans.  A less tangible but very real outcome is the development of what we call a “future focused female family” .  This is a peer group that challenges and supports and will endure long after the official end of the Advance programme, ensuring the Advance adventure has long lasting impact for both the woman and the firm.

Advance Silver

We believe every firm should be able to invest in supporting and developing women to realise their potential. Our 3 month Silver Experience ensures price is not a barrier to entry and suits firms who wish to invest in large numbers of women.

Who is it for?

Silver is for 1-3 PQE,  junior employees, new joiners or new Managers, setting them up for success.   It lasts 3 months, from mid September  to mid December, has 6 modules, and 12 weekly calls for peer coaching and support.  It is a foundational programme laying the cornerstones for every woman’s career, focussing on self awareness and personal growth.
