Nexia wins the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Initiative of the Year Award 2023

Nexia is delighted to announce its recognition as the winner of the prestigious Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Initiative of the Year Award, at the International Accounting Forum & Awards 2023.
The annual event, which takes place in London celebrates the cutting-edge advancements in accounting. For the 12th year running, it brings together leading accounting firms, regulators, and industry bodies; consultancies and advisors, law firms and technology providers to take part in insightful discussions about the primary challenges influencing the accountancy sector and the abundant growth opportunities they offer.
The Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (“DE&I”) Award aims to recognise and commemorate the extraordinary accomplishments of an organisation that has new standards for diversity, equity, and inclusion in its business operations.
Nexia’s flagship DE&I programme empowers the development of future women leaders, to achieve top leadership positions in accounting firms. This motivating initiative inspires women, enhancing their confidence and strength as they make the leap to future Manager, Director, or Partner. Nexia addressed this in September 2022 by launching its pioneering peer-led Aspiring Women Leaders (“AWL”) Programme. Intentionally, the Nexia AWL programme avoids teaching what leadership means to women. Instead, it empowers them to embark a personal journey of exploration, enabling them to delve deep within themselves, identify their aspirations, and validate the kind of leadership style they wish to refine.
AWL is a fully inclusive programme and is the centerpiece to Nexia’s five-year defined DE&I strategy. The first cohort attracted 40 delegates from 10 countries across Europe, Middle East and Africa, North America, and Asia Pacific. The second cohort of talented women will start the programme in September 2023.

The International Accounting Forum & Awards took place on Thursday 29 June 2023 at the Leonardo Royal City in London.
