People and workforce transformation

CEO imperative: The organisation based on skills transformation

The importance of attracting, retaining and developing talent is widely recognised as a crucial factor in the success of any organisation. The workforce transformation is undergoing a deep acceleration like we have never seen before.

Today, we see our companies moving towards models of skills-based organisations that prioritise employee expertise, ongoing learning, and adaptability over traditional rigid structures and segmented departments.

According to several studies published by reliable sources in the last months (e.g. SHRM, Josh Bersin, and others) regarding talent, the coming years will be dramatically impacted by the proliferation of:

  • Digital talent marketplace: Both internal and external, our current and potential employees have access to opportunities to develop their capabilities. These systems match workers with internal/external job openings, list available mentors, detailed learning opportunities that support career paths, and more.
  • Talent intelligence expanding by AI: Disruptive talent intelligence technologies appear as a complement to traditional HR systems. Talent intelligence is not just a technology market – this is a new set of tools to reinvent recruiting, internal mobility, skills development, career growth, workforce planning, succession management, leadership development, and even pay equity and performance management.
  • Emerging self-skills development-based tools: Our people today have access to technologies that allow them to accelerate the development of their skills on their own. Therefore, our HR professionals now need to incorporate data-driven decision-making, predict future workforce trends, and utilise technology to improve organisational performance.
  • ESG will be a “must”: For HR and business leaders, the S in ESG will have heightened importance as both new regulations and Boards of Directors are leaning into talent issues like talent acquisition and retention, diversity of new hires and current workers, development of next generation talent, and pay equity and transparency.

The talent market will continue to move rapidly in its swift evolution, as new values, technologies, and business structures emerge. To face these challenges, we must focus on creating ecosystems between organisations, where partners, vendors and talent networks are seamlessly integrated to enhance agility and responsiveness.

We are facing moments of deep transformations that require courage and determination for our leaders to create adaptive organisations capable of shaping our future.

At Together Business Consulting we have experience in bringing all these factors together for the middle-market. We are very excited about creating and providing value to both our clients and our own network.
